Development in Malaysia and Indonesian Labour


Starting from the early 1980s until 2010 the development in Malaysia continues to run smoothly. The development includes housing, shops, office space, hospitality and utilities. The development is particularly significant in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor.
In Kuala Lumpur, the development progress  more on office space, business centers, hotels, condominiums, and residential apartement. Among the places in Kuala Lumpur that is emerging in Jalan Pinang, Jalan Ampang, between Mount Kiara, Desa Seri Hartamas, and a few strategic places. In Selangor, the places are emerging in Shah Alam, Cheras, Kajang and Klang and the surrounding area. Meanwhile, in Johor, the places that are emerging in Johor Bahru and Kota Iskandar.
On housing, each year increasing housing demand from buyers. That’s why many developers are building housing to meet the demand. In Taman Setia Alam, Shah Alam  and the surrounding is built a lot of housing for middle class and above. Land of vast oil palm plantations are being developed where the housing may be completed until year 2020.  Similarly, in Cheras and Klang  the housing development industry is growing rapidly. Meanwhile, in Kota Iskandar, Johor is currently developing the central government offices and business centre.
With the rapid development in Malaysia is much labor is needed and one option is hiring workers from Indonesia. Starting from the early 1980s until the present the number of Indonesian wokers in Malaysia are increase. According to unofficial estimates from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI), Kuala Lumpur until the present Indonesian workers in Malaysia has reached up to two (2) million people including construction workers, maids, cleaning service and farm workers. The most are from the construction sector.
The progress of development in Malaysia now is getting a lot of job oppoturnities available and more are certain areas of the opportunity  has taken by the Indonesian workers. This is because Malaysian workers prefer to work in both private and government offices wether as officer or clerk. Finally, the Indonesian workers who came to Malaysia increased and development in Malaysia also has grown rapidly.
